URWERK: Snapshot´s of the ´UR-T8 RAPTOR` – a one-of-a-kind art piece to support charity
A long-term project from ART IN TIME (Monaco) with local and philanthropic engagement in mind was launched with a unique URWERK time-/art piece ´UR-T8 RAPTOR` in 2020. This time they support the Monaco Red Cross, and Covid-19 was partly responsible
The UR-T8 was designed to celebrate 20 years of URWERK, already launched in 2017 and is a good example of what you can expect from the brand – a unique blend of expertise and craziness. Therefore, we won´t go into details about the watch itself, except the differences of the ´RAPTOR`. Once more young metal engraver Johnny “King Nerd” Dowell from the UK has devoted his talent to creating a truly one-of-a-kind model by adorning the body with the reproduction of a scene worthy of the film Jurassic Park: two fearsome, larger-than-life Raptor heads.
Let´s pictures do the work of further introduction – instead of more words – and we hope you enjoy it, like we did when handling and shooting the eclectic piece:
Sidenote: In case you were wondering why there was a black “latex glove” shown above and two more below. It was a try, because of Covid-19. The situation was new for everyone, how to meet in person and to handle the watches in such circumstances. The pictures turned out better than it was to wear such a glove while taking pictures, but it was no pleasure – not at all 😉 Hopefully there won´t be a need to do so again. Fingers crossed, for all of us!
Calibre: UR 8.01
Satelite complication with hours/minutes rotation modules fitted on planetary gearing
Transformer-type case in grade 5 titanium
Dimensions: 60.23mm x 48.35mm x 20.02mm
Statement: The ´Earth` without ´Art` is just ´Eh` – even or especially in times like this. With this watch, both worlds are firmly united in a complimentary pattern – philosophically, technically and artistically a wholesome artifact!
