Watch of the Day: The Montblanc 1858 Automatic Chronograph Limited Edition, a 1858-piece edition (!?) watch heavily inspired Minerva’s vast past archive.

In terms of technology its totally up to date, with a Sellita SW-500 automatic movement, a ceramic bezel insert and a sapphire box crystal - the aesthetics however stem from another era, the dark dial with lumed arabic numerals (in ‘faux patina’…) and cathedral-shaped hands. The case also shows some nicely done details.

While not braking new bounds, a lovely piece still. It’s certainly not for all of us, but if ‘vintage’ is your thing but you value modern-day reliability, this could be yours!
